About The Company:
Our client is a well-established and growing organization seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support daily financial operations. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple accounting functions while contributing to process improvements and financial accuracy.
Job Description:
The Accountant II will support general accounting activities, including account reconciliations, inventory accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, sales tax administration, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate financial records.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Support inventory accounting activities, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Manage accounts receivable balances and assist with collection efforts.
- Process customer payments, credits, rebates, and account adjustments.
- Record and reconcile daily cash transactions.
- Assist with accounts payable processing, including ACH, wire, and check payments.
- Maintain customer and vendor records within the ERP system.
- Support sales tax administration and documentation management.
- Research and resolve billing, payment, and account discrepancies.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare reports and documentation for audits and financial reviews.
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with retention policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies.
- Assist leadership with special projects and additional accounting support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with ERP systems is preferred.
