General Ledger Accountant – Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) Compensation
Salary up to $55,000 - $60,000 based on education and experience.
Work HoursFull-time 40-hour work weeks.

Responsibilities- Process journal entries into the general ledger for all state agencies, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
- Process Form 11 reconciliations from agencies, reviewing and comparing People Soft and State Treasurer reports and agency documentation to ensure accurate balances; assist agencies in researching and resolving reconciliation issues.
- Read and analyze state legislation and statutes to determine agency actions and direction; issue written memos based on research.
- Serve as backup for monthly general revenue reconciliation and estimate work, processing monthly general revenue appropriation transfers and other monthly transfers.
- Prepare various annual federal reports.
- Provide functional support to state agencies in general ledger and accounting issues, including reconciliation of fund balances, error resolution, and general operating questions.
- Perform other general ledger team duties, payroll funding corrections, and payroll validation.
- Assist with developing and maintaining training manuals, documentation, and schedules and distribute them to user groups.
- Monitor and respond to team Service Desk cases to provide timely resolution.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a closely related field.
- Two (2) years of professional accounting work experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of education for one year of work experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Good working knowledge of the State of Oklahoma Accounting system and People Soft Financials.
- Experience with SQL tools and developer skills, and intermediate skills with Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and statewide accounting policy.
- Strong reconciliation skills.
- Position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.
