The Staff Accountant position will be primarily responsible for various accounting functions including month-end close, account reconciliations, booking journal entries, maintaining fixed asset accounting, and assisting with inventory. The staff accountant will also prepare schedules to support external audits. The position requires good oral and written communication skills and proficiency in Excel and integrated manufacturing systems/ERPs. Demonstrated manufacturing or cost/inventory knowledge is a plus.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly account reconciliations, including daily cash reconciliation
- Prepare and book journal entries
- Maintain fixed asset accounting
- Review daily inventory spreadsheets
- Prepare and file monthly sales/use tax reports
- Support external audits
- Support the CFO and Accounting Manager in budgeting/forecasting process
- Support other departments with expenditure information requests, as necessary
- Minimum of a High School Diploma (Associate’s Degree in Accounting preferred)
- Beginner to Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs a plus)
- Critical thinking/analytical skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well under pressure and able to meet challenging deadlines
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Integrated manufacturing systems/ERP skills a plus
- Experience with state tax reporting, such excise tax and sales/use tax a plus
- Experience with other products in the Microsoft Office suite
- Some travel to our manufacturing facility in Pryor will be required (typically less than 20% unless a special project is ongoing).
