Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a growing team in Tulsa, Oklahoma in a contract position with the potential to become permanent. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations while also contributing to office administration, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys variety and accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with payable and receivable processes, payroll support, and financial recordkeeping, along with the ability to collaborate across departments in an in-person setting.

Responsibilities:

- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices while preparing timely payments and maintaining organized expense documentation.

- Support accounts receivable activities by applying customer payments, recording deposits, issuing invoices, and following up on outstanding balances.

- Reconcile account activity, investigate discrepancies, and help ensure the accuracy of financial records and reporting.

- Maintain employee-related administrative records such as timesheets, internal charge accounts, and department tracking spreadsheets.

- Assist with payroll-related tasks and help keep supporting documentation complete and up to date.

- Coordinate with technicians and internal teams to monitor purchase orders, vendor information, and other operational records.

- Provide administrative support to operations and quality teams as needed, contributing to smooth daily office workflows.

- Help track rebates, sales tax-related information, and other accounting details to support compliance and reporting requirements. Requirements - At least 3 years of experience in an accounting-focused position.

- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a detail-focused setting.

- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and account reconciliation.

- Solid understanding of core accounting principles, including debits and credits, journal entries, general ledger activity, and double-entry bookkeeping.

- Experience handling confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, resolve issues, and maintain accurate records.

- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple departments in an in-person office environment.

- Familiarity with payroll processes and Oklahoma sales tax reporting is strongly preferred.
