Staff Accountant | GAAP End Close Pro

SBCS are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our clients'growing team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day accounting functions and supporting the financial operations of our company. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

- Reconcile bank and credit card statements

- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities

- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget variances

- Assist with annual audits and tax filings

- Maintain accurate and organized financial records

- Support the preparation of financial reports for management and clients

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance

- CPA certification is preferred

- Strong understanding of GAAP principles

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Quickbooks, Net Suite, etc.)

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Prior experience in a consulting firm is a plus
