Accounts Payable Analyst (Contract)

Location:

Oklahoma City, OK

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Pay: $35-$45/hour DOE

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Accounts Payable Analyst for a 6-month contract assignment. This role is ideal for an experienced AP professional who enjoys digging into data, identifying process improvement opportunities, cleaning up discrepancies, and helping drive efficiencies within the Accounts Payable department.

This is not a traditional invoice-processing role. The ideal candidate will be tasked with researching issues, analyzing AP data, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations and corrections to help move the department forward.

Key Responsibilities

+ Analyze Accounts Payable processes, workflows, and data for accuracy and efficiency

+ Research and resolve outstanding AP discrepancies and transactional issues

+ Perform data cleanup and validation activities within the AP function

+ Review vendor records, payment activity, and account reconciliations

+ Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency

+ Assist with AP reporting, audits, and special projects

+ Partner with accounting and finance teams to implement corrective actions

+ Utilize Excel to analyze large data sets and identify trends, errors, and opportunities for improvement

+ Support system maintenance and data integrity initiatives within the AP department

Requirements

Qualifications

+ 3+ years of Accounts Payable, AP Analysis, or Accounting experience

+ Strong understanding of AP processes, controls, and best practices

+

Experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) required

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including:

+ VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP

+ Pivot Tables

+ Advanced formulas and data analysis

+ Data cleanup and reconciliation

+ Highly analytical with strong problem-solving abilities

+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

+ Excellent attention to detail and follow-through

Preferred Background

+ Experience leading AP cleanup or process improvement initiatives

+ Experience supporting audits and internal controls

+ Strong reconciliation and research skills

+ Accounting degree or equivalent experience preferred
