Job Summary Under general direction, coordinates and supervises the maintenance and repair services for the County fleet by performing the following duties.# #

Job Description
** Safety-Sensitive Position:
** Yes (as defined under Oklahoma Statute Title 63 § 427.8)
** All candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County.
** Essential Job Functions  
• Supervise the work of subordinates and inspect the completion of work requests.  
• Report on the equipment and parts needed to complete a work request.  
• Report on the equipment and parts used for inventory purposes.  
• Complete general maintenance on all fleet equipment, as assigned, including front end alignments, oil changes, and filter changes.  
• Complete major repairs, including engines replacements, brake jobs, transmission repairs, and repairing heating and air conditioning systems.  
• Inspect completed repairs performed by subordinates.  
• Train new employees.  
• Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside vendors.  
• Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.  
• Maintain safe working conditions; identify and correct or report unsafe conditions in work areas.
• Snow removal, sand bagging, and cleaning of properties.
• Complete and fill out all assigned work orders and assigned documents.# # Additional

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities  Skill in the supervision and coordination of automotive maintenance and repair; in the use and operation of tools and machinery used in automotive maintenance and repair; and in automotive diagnostic equipment.
Knowledge of inventory control techniques and garage shop polices; of the latest automotive equipment and repair techniques; of routine safety procedures for an automotive garage; of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in repairing heavy duty automotive equipment; of operating principles of gasoline and diesel engines; of mechanical repair of heavy duty trucks and construction equipment; of best practices safety precautions;

of multi-meter function and operation; of all computer systems and on-board diagnostic systems; of the use of a wide variety of tools and precision equipment, many requiring fine adjustments with close tolerance; of the use R12, R134, and R12344YF refrigerant; and of departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to use front end alignment machines, automotive diagnostic equipment, and automotive repair tools; to trouble shot and repair malfunctioning equipment, including computer operated automotive equipment; to plan, organize, and control the work of others; to diagnose defects in automotive equipment; to adapt available tools and repair parts to specific problems; to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to interpret and work from sketches and pencil diagrams;
