Overview
Please note this will be a fully onsite position based at our Downtown Tulsa location. You would play a key part in project purchasing, with responsibilities that include managing purchase order progress, resolving issues proactively, and communicating effectively with cross‑functional teams. Success in this position requires strong problem‑solving skills and a background in supply chain or warehouse operations.
What You Will DoProcure materials and services from suppliers after giving consideration to cost, quality, and service and company policies and procedures.
Review and analyze material needs, investigate and develop sources of supply, manage supplier performance objectives and outcomes, and coordinate with customers in the sourcing of supply materials.
Process purchase requisitions including:
- Researching products
- Clarifying specifications
- Documenting competitive bids
- Following up on back orders
Prepare and distribute requests for quotes from vendors.
Analyze quotes and reviews with representatives of various business units prior to determining vendor selections.
Negotiate and make assignments of purchase orders and blanket purchase orders for materials, supplies, and equipment.
Seek out and develop minority suppliers.
Prepare monthly status reports concerning major purchase agreements and other activities.
Calculate, analyze, verify, and maintain items including:
- Bid sheets
- Trade and chain discounts
- Blanket and standard purchase orders
- Procurement mismatching
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Will NeedPreferred Bachelor's Degree business administration or related field or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as materials management, accounting, purchasing, computer sciences, microeconomics, business law, business communications, algebra, or interpersonal communications PLUS the following job related knowledge or experience:
Experience working with company's purchasing processes and policies.
Working knowledge of materials, equipment, and supplies procured through Company purchasing and materials functions.
Working knowledge of similar functions across company business units.
Experience expediting, verifying, and/or authorizing orders for materials, supplies, and equipment.
Experience in use and function of office equipment applicable to position including accessing mainframe applications and utilizing microcomputers and applicable software.
Experience with application of math and algebraic formulas applicable to position.
Experience and training including:
- Storeroom operations
- Project management
- Material/inventory management
- Spreadsheet and word processing applications such as Excel, Word, and Access
- Relational database applications such Oracle
Experience reading and interpreting manuals, catalogues, contracts, warranty agreements, forms, reports, material requests, and correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to compose and prepare purchase contracts, governmental reports, forms, and correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to interact, assist, negotiate, and communicate effectively.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license.
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Mobility to travel in office surroundings and around job sites out-of-doors.
Able to exchange verbal and written information and instructions.
Peripheral vision and accurate depth perception.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
