Job Title
Program Specialist (Scheduling Auditor)
Responsibilities- Initiating, populating, and reviewing reports for the Business Office.
- Implementing monitoring/reporting tools for each unit within the service such as enrollment and eligibility, encounter management, action required, and training employees on how to utilize them.
- Researching trends and patterns to develop new methods and techniques for acquiring information, analyzing data, developing solutions or criteria, and presenting findings.
- Developing methods to isolate and identify conditions affecting inefficiency.
- Protecting assets by completing audits, ensuring regulations and internal controls are accurate and up to date, and recommending improvements in internal control structure.
- Serving as the technical expert in a wide variety of auditing program management functions.
- Planning, organizing, directing, and controlling areas with emphasis on data validation, analysis, and generation of reports associated with the facility Business Office Service.
- Providing support and education on documentation issues and assisting in the development of guidelines for data compatibility, consistency, and monitoring for compliance.
- Improving the quality of clinical, financial, and administrative data to ensure that every part of the information is completely documented and supported.
- Drafting findings, conclusions, and recommendations ensuring that the work performed adequately supports conclusions reached and recommendations are consistent with audit objectives and reporting standards.
- Determining requirements and establishing priorities, providing guidance concerning formulation, planning, and execution of the auditing function.
- Researching pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which impact the programs administered within the organization to enable recognition of problems both potential and existing and evaluate to determine cause and formulate solutions.
- Independently planning and carrying out the assignment in conformance with accepted auditing practices.
- Being knowledgeable of HIPAA, Freedom of Information Act, the Privacy Act of 1974, Title 38 U.S.C. dealing with drug/alcohol etc., and applicable laws, regulations, and practices of the VISN, JCAHO and other local governing agencies pertaining to auditing.
- Preparing and articulating findings and recommendations in written reports and presenting oral briefings.
- Choosing a course of action from many alternatives in planning an approach, gathering data, and presenting findings depending on the nature and extent of problems encountered.
Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm)
TeleworkThis position may be authorized for ADHOC telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
