SummaryWe seek an aggressive, disciplined sales professional with a consultative sales approach, expertise in specifying products to large end users, and experience managing distributors in the industrial or PPE markets.
LocationThe territory includes Southern Kansas and Oklahoma. Flexible home‑office location is preferred, with a preference for candidates based in Tulsa or Oklahoma City.
Job Responsibilities- Work with plant safety professionals at large industrial end users to identify safety problems and opportunities to reduce injuries and costs.
- Recommend, specify, or develop appropriate Hex Armor solutions.
- Assist safety management and purchasing/procurement in building economic justification based on reduction in injuries and PPE costs.
- Support plant and divisional safety management in rolling out new PPE policies locally, regionally, and nationally.
- Establish relationships and credibility with divisional and corporate‑level safety officers.
- Develop productive relationships and credibility with local, regional, and national distribution management.
- Support and develop champions among local, regional, and national safety distribution partners.
- Collaborate with an inside sales person using a team‑based approach when needed; communicate territory activities effectively.
- Communicate product and market needs to Product Development and sales management.
- Work with Supply Chain to share information about existing and new business to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
- Provide training for distributors’ inside and outside sales personnel in their region.
- Deliver impactful local/regional safety presentations.
- Manage a detailed book of business and actively work a target list.
- Meet with end users both at the field level and executive level.
- Attend industry‑specific regional and national safety conferences as required.
- Use CRM to plan and record daily, weekly, monthly activities.
- Forecast pending and future business in the CRM opportunity management system for inventory planning.
- Manage expenses to maintain profitability targets, including travel, samples, and distributor support.
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed by sales management.
- Travel 60% or more overnight.
- Proven ability to help customers solve problems.
- Desire and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and be part of a high‑performance team.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work efficiently without daily supervision.
- Clear and collaborative communication by phone and email to prospects and customers.
- Process‑driven and ability to manage client expectations through the Hex Armor solutions process.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to learn and use a CRM ().
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 2+ years’ experience in industrial sales – preferred.
- Proven success managing a multi‑state territory.
- Experience working for a manufacturer or distributor calling on end users and distributors.
- Proven success in industrial accounts is a plus.
