Your Job
Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is seeking an experienced Senior Director, Finance Business Partner – John Zink. This position is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and reports to the ET&S VP of Finance. If you are an ambitious business leader with the interest and capability to partner across the business — including sales, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, planning, strategy, and market analysis — this could be an excellent opportunity for you.
This role can prepare you for broader finance leadership responsibility or advance your path to leading a business or capability.
As a core member of the global leadership team, you will work directly with the business leader as a thought partner and strategic advisor to advance the business vision. You will bring the economic and financial perspective needed to improve decision making and maximize value creation for customers, suppliers, shareholders, and other stakeholders. A successful candidate will be a Principled Entrepreneur™ who brings creativity and a contribution mindset to vision development and long‑range planning, and who helps establish clear strategies and priorities to capture opportunities that increase long‑term profitability.
You will do this by personally applying our management framework, Principle Based Management (PBM), and influencing its application throughout the business. You will also help advance how Finance & Accounting partners with the business by applying Comparative Advantage and AI‑enabled ways of working to create greater value for Koch.

- Partner with the broader finance and accounting organization to provide financial domain expertise
- Apply insights from other industries and business models to assess current performance, shape vision and strategy, and originate new ideas
- Understand and be able to effectively articulate business objectives, insights and market drivers

- Develop practical economic models and redesign decision‑support processes from the outcome backward, with AI in the loop, to improve day‑to‑day decision making and compress cycle time
- Promote an integrated business team approach by connecting leaders to the key drivers of current performance and the levers that improve future outcomes
- Provide economic and financial leadership that increases the speed and quality of decisions, informs strategy, and drives prioritization and execution
- Apply AI fluently in daily work through drafting, synthesis, modeling, variance analysis, and executive communication all while using deep business knowledge to create new ways of working with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain partners
- Model and accelerate AI adoption on the leadership team by using AI visibly, sharing wins across the business, protecting experimentation time, surfacing friction points (policy, access, data, process), and partnering with Finance & Accounting, IT, and business leaders to strengthen data foundations, governance, and MDM readiness for priority use cases
- Experience in business analysis, finance, accounting, commercial development, business strategy, sales, procurement, planning, engineering, manufacturing, or other business capability roles that include responsibility for improving business financial performance
- Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional initiatives as well as partnering with senior leaders in a business team environment to communicate business strategy, articulate economic value of alternative options, and/or seek investment authority from senior leadership
- Experience, passion, and capability in analyzing and communicating periodic financial performance (monthly, quarterly, and annual results), near‑term financial forecasts (next year), long‑range…
