Who You Are:
The Senior Vice President, Strategic Transactions – Energy & Hyperscale will lead QTS’s most complex and high‑impact commercial transactions, ensuring the company can scale rapidly and competitively in a constrained and evolving infrastructure landscape. This executive is responsible for structuring and executing enterprise‑critical agreements, including hyperscale site transactions, power procurement strategies, and strategic infrastructure partnerships.
This role will shape and lead QTS’s approach to large‑scale deal making by negotiating sophisticated commercial arrangements with hyperscale customers, utilities, developers, and capital partners. The SVP will ensure transactions are financially sound, operationally executable, and aligned with long‑term growth objectives, balancing cost, risk, speed to market, and scalability.
The SVP will partner closely with Development, Investments, Energy, Finance, Legal, and External Affairs to integrate transaction strategy into site selection, underwriting, customer commitments, and capital deployment decisions. This role requires a highly strategic and commercially driven leader who can navigate complex, multi‑party negotiations and deliver outcomes that enable sustained growth across domestic and international markets.
What You Will Do- Lead and execute QTS’s most complex and strategic commercial transactions related to hyperscale customers, energy procurement, and infrastructure partnerships.
- Own enterprise‑level negotiations for hyperscale site agreements, including land, power, and long‑term commercial structures that enable scalable growth.
- Lead negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements and other energy procurement structures, ensuring alignment with capacity needs, cost efficiency, and long‑term resiliency.
- Structure and negotiate innovative commercial frameworks across utilities, developers, customers, and capital partners to unlock constrained markets and accelerate deployment.
- Partner closely with Finance to ensure all agreements meet underwriting requirements, return thresholds, and capital allocation priorities.
- Integrate transaction strategy with Development, Investments, and Energy teams to align timing, risk, and execution of major deals.
- Evaluate and structure complex, multi‑variable deals balancing commercial terms, risk allocation, regulatory considerations, and long‑term scalability.
- Develop and maintain transaction playbooks, negotiation strategies, and governance frameworks to drive consistency and speed at scale.
- Serve as executive lead for high‑impact negotiations with hyperscale customers, utilities, and strategic partners.
- Provide clear, executive‑level recommendations on deal structures, trade‑offs, and risk implications to senior leadership.
- Anticipate market dynamics, competitive pressures, and evolving customer requirements to proactively position QTS in strategic negotiations.
- Ensure all transactions reflect QTS’s standards for operational feasibility, financial discipline, and long‑term value creation.
- Lead, develop, and influence cross‑functional deal teams in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment.

- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, JD, or relevant graduate degree) preferred.
- Fifteen or more years of progressive experience in strategic transactions, infrastructure, energy, hyperscale data center development, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, high‑value commercial negotiations, including hyperscale site agreements, energy procurement structures, and long‑term partnership deals.
- Proven ability to structure and execute sophisticated transactions involving multiple stakeholders, balancing financial, operational, and regulatory considerations.
- Strong financial acumen with experience partnering with finance teams on underwriting, capital allocation, and investment decision‑making.
- Experience negotiating Power Purchase Agreements or similar energy‑related commercial structures preferred.
