Position Overview The Accounts Receivable – Rent-to-Own Customers role is a full-time, in-person position responsible for managing payments, tracking, and follow-up for individual customers in our student rent-to-own instrument program. Customers pay through automated credit/debit card or bank account drafts three times a month. This position ensures that accounts are collected on time, past-due balances are resolved, and instruments are returned promptly if a student is no longer participating in band or orchestra.

Proactively contact families via phone, text, and email to resolve outstanding balances.

Arrange payment plans with customers when necessary.

Coordinate retrieval of instruments if students are no longer in band or orchestra.

Maintain accurate billing and account records in our ERP system.

Communicate respectfully and professionally, keeping in mind our close relationships with families, schools, and music educators.

What We’re Looking For Strong organizational and follow-up skills — able to track many customer accounts ellent communication skills: phone, email, and written.

Professional, empathetic approach to collections — firm but relationship-focused.

Comfort with billing systems, payment platforms, and general office software.

Musical background or familiarity with school music programs is a plus.

Positive, encouraging presence — someone who enjoys supporting families and helping students stay in music.

The Ideal Candidate Balances accuracy with people skills — can resolve a late payment without damaging a relationship.

Isn’t afraid to follow up multiple times when necessary — but always with tact.
