Payroll Processor
Under general supervision, processes payroll and related timekeeping, performs accounting functions for the Sheriff's Office.
Example of work performed:
- Ensure TCSO payroll is ready for processing
- Work with County payroll to ensure all TCSO employees are paid correctly
- Review payroll derived from information received from Workday to include overtime pay, pay during leave of absence, and final payout for exiting employees
- Generates, edits, and disseminates materials and information, both electronic and hard copy, to communicate, explain, and train Tulsa County and TCSO compensation practices to personnel at all levels
- Responsible for accounting processes
- Provides documentation for ACA assessments
- Responds to State Auditors' inquiries
- May assist in the annual budgeting process and other accounting responsibilities to include special assignments
- Continual internal auditing of complete and accurate entries including stipends, and compensation reviews
- Reporting for various payroll reimbursements
- Reports for OT and other time tracking
- Work with County to create and implement new time tags for special assignments
- May supervise one employee that assists this position
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities:
May supervise other finance or payroll employees
Education and/or experience:
Bachelor's degree from approved accredited four-year college or university, preferably in the field of business/financial/accounting, and over three years work experience in a related field. In addition, experience preferred in employee relations and the Workday program. Experience in lieu of education requirement may be considered.
Certificates, licenses, registrations:
Valid Oklahoma Driver's License
Physical demand:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
