Safety & Security Manager - 1st Shift - Travel

Job Overview

We’re at GXO looking for a Security and Safety Manager to lead development, execution and continuous improvement of security and safety programs across the operation. The role is 1st shift Monday‑Friday 8:00am‑5:00pm. This role is open to candidates located anywhere in the US; preferred to be in the Pryor, OK metro area.

• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety, health, and security programs in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert and primary point of contact for all safety, health and security matters, partnering with operations, HR, legal, internal audit, and external agencies.
• Conduct risk assessments, compliance audits and security surveys to identify vulnerabilities, ensure policy adherence and drive corrective actions.
• Analyze safety incidents, loss trends, and operational data; lead investigations, ensure documentation and reporting, provide insights and metrics for leadership.
• Design and deliver safety and security training programs to increase awareness, strengthen compliance and enhance employee engagement.
• Support operational teams by developing and implementing action plans to improve safety performance, reduce risk and loss, and align with physical security and environmental standards.
• Participate in process reviews and job hazard analyses for new and existing operations to proactively mitigate risk.
• Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms to communicate safety performance, security initiatives and KPIs to leadership.
• Build strong cross‑functional relationships to drive a culture of safety, security, accountability and continuous improvement.

• Ability to travel up to 85% of the time.
• Must possess a REAL ‑compliant driver’s license or passport.
• Familiarity with TSA security procedures.
• Ability to travel domestically via road, rail and air as required.

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including planned and unplanned overtime.

It’d be great if you also have:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
• 4 years of experience in a security‑related industry.
• Membership in a nationally recognized safety organization.
• 5 years of experience managing safety and health programs in an industrial or warehouse environment.
• Certification in W‑Z interviews and interrogations.
• Experience working in a distribution network and logistics environment.
• Project management, investigations and training experience.
• CCTV‑alarm technical comprehension.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clear, organized information.
• Solid attention to detail and follow‑up skills with ability to resolve problems.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships and build trust through fairness, honesty and openness.
