Oral Roberts University Men’s Basketball Position Summary
The Director of Basketball Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operational management of the Oral Roberts Men’s Basketball program. This individual serves as the program’s chief administrator, ensuring every aspect of the team’s operations is executed with excellence, organization, and efficiency.
Working closely with the Head Coach, the Director of Basketball Operations manages the program’s budget, travel, academics, compliance coordination, scheduling, and administrative systems while creating an environment that allows the coaching staff to focus on coaching, recruiting, and developing student-athletes.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Program Administration- Direct the day-to-day administrative operations of the men’s basketball program.
- Develop and maintain the team’s master calendar, coordinating practices, workouts, meetings, travel, recruiting activities, and special events.
- Establish and maintain organizational systems that promote efficiency and accountability.
- Coordinate communication between the basketball program and university departments.
- Manage the annual operating budget for the men’s basketball program.
- Track and reconcile all program expenditures.
- Process purchase orders, invoices, reimbursements, and expense reports.
- Monitor budgets throughout the year and identify opportunities for fiscal efficiency.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with university policies and procedures.
- Plan and execute all team travel arrangements.
- Coordinate commercial and charter flights, hotels, buses, meals, and practice facilities.
- Manage travel party logistics and communication with host institutions.
- Oversee all travel-related operations to ensure a seamless experience for student-athletes and staff.
- Serve as the primary liaison with academic support services.
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility.
- Coordinate tutoring, study hall schedules, and academic meetings.
- Assist coaches in staying informed on academic performance and requirements.
- Promote a culture of academic responsibility and success.
- Work collaboratively with the Athletic Compliance Office to ensure adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.
- Coordinate required documentation and administrative processes.
- Assist with recruiting visit logistics and compliance-related procedures.
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
- Coordinate team meals, nutrition logistics, and hospitality.
- Oversee practice and game-day operational needs.
- Coordinate facility scheduling with athletic department personnel.
- Supervise student managers and assist with equipment and operational needs.
- Assist with camps, clinics, community engagement events, and special projects.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and operational documents.
- Maintain program files, databases, and administrative records.
- Coordinate meetings and staff logistics.
- Manage vendor relationships and outside service providers.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Head Coach.
- Previous experience in collegiate athletics operations preferred.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
- Strong financial management and budgeting experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and athletic department software systems.
- Working knowledge of NCAA rules and Division I athletics preferred.
