The Director of Product will provide strategic and operational leadership for product management across the organization’s core health plan capabilities. This leader will establish a scalable product management framework, develop and mentor Product Owners, and ensure technology investments are aligned with measurable business, member, provider, regulatory, and operational outcomes.

, understands core payer administration functions, and has the leadership skills necessary to help an organization evolve from traditional project delivery toward a mature, outcome-oriented product model.
- Lead and develop the organization’s Product Owner community, establishing common product management practices, standards, governance, and expectations across multiple business value streams.
- Provide senior-level product leadership that connects business strategy, member and provider needs, regulatory obligations, and technology execution.
- Establish and mature product operating practices, including product discovery, backlog ownership, prioritization, roadmap development, decision rights, and outcome measurement.
- Guide the organization’s transition from a project-centric delivery model to a sustainable product-oriented operating model.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Product Owners, strengthening their capabilities in discovery, prioritization, stakeholder management, roadmap development, and outcome-based decision-making.

- Enrollment
- Claims
- Care Management
- HEDIS
- CMS regulatory requirements
- Other core payer administrative functions
- Establish accountability for product roadmaps, delivery commitments, and strategic priorities. Identify risks early, communicate proactively, resolve obstacles, and ensure commitments are completed.
- Partner with Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and business stakeholders to treat data as a strategic product capability. Help develop data products, improve data quality, and connect analytics capabilities to measurable business outcomes.
- Support the organization’s broader data and AI strategy by identifying opportunities to incorporate analytics, artificial intelligence, and generative AI into products and delivery processes.
- Reinforce effective Agile practices across product teams, including sprint planning, ceremonies, backlog refinement, and clear definitions of Ready and Done.
- Provide executives and senior IT/business leaders with clear visibility into portfolio performance, roadmap status, delivery risks, priorities, tradeoffs, and Product Owner development.
- Work directly with product teams and their artifacts rather than operating solely at a strategic or governance level.
- Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
- Demonstrated success in a mature or developing product management environment, with responsibility for product outcomes, roadmaps, prioritization, discovery, and strategic decision-making.
- Significant experience in healthcare payer or health plan product management.
- Experience working with core payer administrative platforms such as QNXT, Amisys, or a comparable health plan system.
- Strong understanding of health plan operations, including eligibility, enrollment, claims, care management, HEDIS, CMS requirements, and value-based care.
- Proven ability to build, coach, and develop Product Owners or product management professionals while establishing consistent practices across multiple teams.
