Job Title: Construction Materials Technician
Job Description: As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you will perform critical field and lab testing, inspection, and observation services on construction projects, including transportation infrastructure, commercial developments, energy facilities, and educational institutions.
Responsibilities- Conduct field and lab testing of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
- Observe and inspect foundations, reinforcing steel, masonry, and structural steel.
- Transport samples to the lab with proper documentation.
- Submit daily reports and observations to the Project Manager.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Adhere to strict safety standards and perform pre-task planning.
- May assist with technician scheduling and dispatch.
- Experience in concrete, construction, and materials testing.
- Proficiency in field and/or laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
- Ability to inspect and observe construction materials and structural components.
- Skill in documentation and reporting of test results using digital tools.
- Effective communication with project managers, contractors, and clients.
- Competence in equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate field vehicles (e.g., Ford F‑150).
Skills & Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: 6+ months experience in construction.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification (within 90 days of hire).
- Nuclear Density Gauge certification (within 6 months of hire).
- Level II or ICC certifications in relevant categories (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
The role is primarily field-based across Tulsa and surrounding areas, involving exposure to active construction sites and outdoor conditions. It requires the use of company vehicles and testing equipment and involves fast‑paced, hands‑on work with a focus on safety and quality.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00‑$28.00/hr.
