Overview
Trueline is seeking an Estimator to join their team with a well-established commercial flooring contractor serving clients across the United States. This is an outstanding opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented construction professional to work alongside an experienced estimator before retirement, gaining valuable mentorship while building a long-term career with a growing organization.
What You'll Do as the Estimator- Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar software
- Prepare detailed project estimates and written proposals
- Create color-coded shop drawings for installation teams
- Coordinate RFIs, ASIs, and bid clarifications with general contractors and project teams
- Source and negotiate material pricing while accounting for lead times and project schedules
- Track project specifications, value engineering opportunities, and scope changes
- Participate in scope review and pre-bid meetings
- Ensure a smooth handoff of awarded projects to the Project Management team
- Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and documentation
- Build strong relationships with general contractors, vendors, and clients throughout the bidding process
- 3-5+ years of construction estimating experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and developing accurate cost estimates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
- Commercial flooring estimating experience
- Hospitality construction experience
- Experience working with general contractors
- AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar construction software
- Experience with or Floor Right
- Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Base salary of $80,000-$95,000 based on experience
- Performance-based bonus opportunity
