GENERAL SUMMARY
The Superintendent will direct and oversee all daily activities of the jobsite, managing subcontractors and labor. They will ensure that the work is performed in a safe and organized manner, complying with the quality program and the initial specifications. Essentially, the job is to guarantee our commitment to building the right way, and by the most cost-effective means while maintaining or improving the schedule.
PRINCIPALDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all safety compliance and quality programs are being executed on the project site.
- Manage the activities of subcontractors, vendors and labor, maintaining strict control over the accuracy and quality for each work activity. Plan look‑ahead schedules, maintain project schedule controls.
- Identify and report problems or deficiencies to the Project Manager. Document on-site activities that may impede progress or compliance to project/contract requirements.
- Review change orders with the Project Manager prior to execution. Review subcontract agreements. Maintain strict control over the budget for each work activity.
- Prepare or review project status reports. Provide complete daily reports and daily photos using Procore.
- Maintain open communication and goodwill with the Owner's representative by coordinating pertinent work activities, attending project progress/scheduling meetings and by understanding the client’s expectations.
- Provide support and mentoring to co-workers and customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to deal with situations involving sensitive and confidential company issues.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Highly self‑motivated and directed.
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work to consistently meet deadlines.
- Proactive and independent.
- Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment internally and externally with a client service focus.
- A thorough understanding of and ability to maintain current, complete set of project documents, drawing, revisions, specifications and related items.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant construction operations experience working in various general commercial building markets. Our typical project portfolio includes Primary/Secondary education, retail/mall development, entertainment/recreational, hospitality/lodging, office, logistics/distribution, Federal/State/City government and green/LEED building industries.
