Utility Superintendent - Heavy Civil Construction

Our client, a leading heavy civil construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Utility Superintendent to oversee underground utility operations supporting roadway and infrastructure construction projects throughout the Tulsa area.

This individual will be responsible for managing field operations, coordinating crews and foremen, maintaining project schedules, monitoring budgets, ensuring quality workmanship, and promoting a strong safety culture. The Utility Superintendent will work closely with engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day utility construction activities and field operations.
  • Develop and execute project schedules and work plans.
  • Coordinate and supervise foremen, crews, subcontractors, and equipment resources.
  • Monitor project budgets and communicate cost variances.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, city inspectors, and project stakeholders. Conduct quality control inspections and provide progress updates to leadership.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of utility construction experience.
  • Experience with underground utilities, including water, sewer, storm drain, or related infrastructure.
  • Background in heavy civil, roadway, highway, or public infrastructure construction.
  • Strong leadership, scheduling, and project management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and drawings.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Additional Information
  • Overnight travel during the week may be required.
  • Weekend work may be required based on project needs.
  • Competitive compensation package based on experience.
  • Salary range: $93,000 - $105,000 annually
    .
