* About the role:

*** Oversee the sourcing and creation of compelling content for digital platforms
* Drive a content strategy that drives new and connects with existing audiences
* Work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment
* Mentor, manage, and motivate journalists to deliver unique quality content that drives conversation and reader engagement
* Understand digital data and use it in planning quality content
* Collaborate with the Courier Mail on relevant content and partner with other regional teams within the division to deliver state-wide outcomes
* Set the tone in the newsroom and create a positive and productive working environment to help journalists perform at their best
* Strong digital newsroom leader with exceptional news judgment
* Extensive previous reporting and newsroom experience.
* Experience overseeing the writing of quality content to tight deadlines
* Thrives on the challenge of meeting business targets and reader expectations then actively looks to exceed them
* Understands and has experience in digital storytelling as well as print
* Willing to embrace change and demonstrate agility in a fast-paced sector
* Self-starter who can maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management
* Understand social media, SEO, digital data
* A team player with excellent communication skills
* Able to network in the community and develop relationships with key stakeholders
