Psychiatric Physician - Join Our Collaborative Team
We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Physician to provide direct patient care across a variety of mental health settings, including acute, short- and long-term treatment, crisis care, outpatient, and addiction services.
Provides clinical leadership to the treatment team to evaluate diagnosis and treat clients with mental health and co-occurring disorders. This position also makes referrals of treatment for other medical disorders that are present, the department head and immediate supervisor for this position is the Medical Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited medical school with as a doctor of medicine (DM) or doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO).
Certified, or eligible to be certified, by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
5+ years of experience in the practice of psychiatry preferred.
At least 2 years experience in direct care services in community mental health of community mental health allied programs or hospitals.
License to practice medicine in the state of Oklahoma.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Exceptional Oral and Written Communication skills are necessary in presenting ideas clearly and accurately across all departments and all levels of employees. Selected candidate must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
Cooperation and mature judgement are key components in working with clients, staff, management and other professional groups to ensure the best quality treatment is provided for each individual client.
Have a broad knowledge of paychopharmacology.
Be able to perform psychiatric evaluations and mental status examinations.
Competency in forensic evaluations and issues.
Ability to assess client's physical condition and make appropriate referrals for medical treatment.
Good working knowledge of psychiatric disorders as outlined in DSM-V (and subsequent additions/revisions) and the diagnosis and treating of mental health and co-occurring disorders.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of social work and/or psychology as well as current social and economic problems.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible and immediately supervised by the Medical Director.
This position is responsible and held accountable for the following duties:
• Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats clients with mental health and co-occurring disorders.
• Refer clients for treatment of medical disorders as appropriate.
• Follows the agency formulary as developed by the Medical Director and makes recommendations as appropriate.
• Maintains appropriate licensure requirements.
• Provides psychiatric consultation to the treatment teams in the agency as needed.
• Maintain current clinical competency through continued education.
• Consult with the Performance Improvement (PI) committee as needed.
• Provides liaison between the agency and the medical community.
• Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as requested.
• Participates in staff meetings.
• Willing and able to perform all job related travel normally associated with this position. This position is expected to travel between various assigned clinic locations as directed.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job requirement.
• Must meet "satisfactory" expectations at any scheduled job performance evaluation.
• Quality of work will be evaluated through training, skill, or special purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality psychiatric care to a diverse patient population.
- Serve as a supervising physician, mentoring and collaborating with Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to support professional growth and ensure coordinated patient care.
- Work collaboratively with therapists, clinicians, nurses, and other providers as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the Physician Advisory Panel.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and other digital tools effectively to support patient care.
- Provide care from a clinic based setting.
