Position: Academic Associate Coach (Part-time grant, 10 months)

Job Summary

The Academic Associate Coach will provide a comprehensive and culturally sensitive set of support services designed to ensure the academic success of underrepresented students as measured by high retention and graduation rates. They will also work to support Academic Advising through providing academic coaching for an identified caseload of students and will track student success in an effort to increase retention and completion rates.

The Academic Associate Coach is responsible for assisting with, identifying, designing, and coordinating the comprehensive program of academic support services, social services and activities for underrepresented student populations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Human Relations, Education or a related field.
  • One year of related experience advising community college students.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as listening skills.
  • Experience with personal computer operations including Microsoft products and the internet.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties under one’s own initiative and with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Teaching experience in secondary or higher education.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
