Position

Description:

* Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching American Sign Language as adult instructor is required.

* Certifications as QA Interpreting IV and QA Transliterating IV are preferred.

* Must be available to teach one evening a week at a Tulsa Tech campus location.

Essential Functions:

* Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.

* Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.

* Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.

* Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.

* Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.

* Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.)

* Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program.

* Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.

* Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Deaf Education or American Sign Language required.

Standard rate schedule for non-regular (temporary, adjunct, substitute) and regular part-time employees

Hiring Range:

$40 per hour
