What You’ll DoThe Leadership Development Coach facilitates ongoing learning experiences that support Corps Members in making connections between the content they are learning, their instructional practice, and their leadership development priorities. They are key contributors to the processing and coaching Corps Members need to make progress toward Pre‑Service outcomes. Candidates for this role are seasonal staff members with prior coaching experience of adult learners, who will work with a cohort of Corps Members from a specified region.
Leadership Development Coaches work with the Regional Points of Contact in their region and are centrally supported by the SMD, LD within the Hub. Given our regions will host an in‑person Practicum, being able to drive between schools is essential. This role requires a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one before the first day of employment.
- Spring Training:
Internalize Pre‑Service structures, including the scope of this role, schedule, session content, and connections between facilitator sessions, teacher leadership sessions, learning environment sessions, and coach‑led spaces. - Internalize, customize, and deliver pre‑scripted coach‑led sessions during Pre‑Service.
- Build community with other Leadership Development Coaches and CM Pod to share best practices.
- Use systems such as Docebo, Slack, incident reports to support engagement.
- Complete 30‑40 hours of asynchronous learning modules and a series of four synchronous calls in April/May.
- Be available for one to two potential in‑person training experiences as needed.
- Corps Member Training and Practicum:
Build strong, asset‑based relationships with Corps Members; facilitate coach‑led spaces, 1:1 coaching, classroom observations, data‑informed decisions, collaborate with peers, support growth, manage risk and policy work, submit evidence of progress. - A week in the life:
Recognize misalignment with core values, examine power and decision‑making, lead sessions, submit risk ratings.
- Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree. - Two or more years of classroom teaching experience and coaching adult learners.
- Quantifiable success as a classroom teacher achieving Broader Student Outcomes.
- Strong understanding of early teacher development, foundational orientations, and student outcomes.
- Experience building relationships across lines of difference, connecting to adult learners.
- Strong organization, time management, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt in fast‑paced, changing environments.
- Committed to continual development of self and others through intentional engagement, reflection, and feedback.
- Adeptness with Zoom and other virtual platforms.
- Willingness to work occasional weekend or evening hours during Spring Training.
- Master’s degree.
- Previous Pre‑Service, VSTT, or Institute experience.
The seasonal Leadership Development Coach role is compensated at $34.28 per hour for the entire commitment. Compensation for all Pre‑Service positions is competitive and determined based on role responsibilities.
DurationPart‑time staff training begins April 6, 2026. There will be four synchronous training sessions (10‑15 hours each). Additional details are available in the Pre‑Service Start Wave and Practicum timelines.
