Job Summary

The Launch Pad:
Social Sciences program is seeking a motivated and reliable student worker to support our first-year college success course students with Launch Pad Social Sciences. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting their peers to succeed, is studying social sciences, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. This position offers hands-on experience in a supportive academic setting and the chance to develop valuable professional skills.

Essential Duties

* Provide general administrative support to Launch Pad faculty and staff.

* Assists, attends, and supports student programming, workshops, and events designed to foster community among Launch Pad students.

* Exhibits leadership skills to guide students in utilizing TCC's support resources to be successful.

* Act as a peer mentor for Launch Pad students, sharing insights and tips on academic success and social science career aspirations.

* Aids in the setup and facilitation of service learning and other interactive classroom activities.

* Performs other duties related to the position as required or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

* Enrolled in six hours as a student at TCC studying in the social science field.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a welcoming and approachable demeanor.

* Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Familiarity with TCC's student support services is a plus.

* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
