Grades 6 - 8 Grades K - 5 Sign Language Interpreter in Tulsa, OK

Step into a vital role supporting student success by providing sign language interpretation in a dynamic educational setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with both high school and younger students, making a real difference in their daily academic experiences.

You will work predominantly one-on-one with a high school student, providing consistent interpretation for 35 to 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. There's also an opening for a part-time interpreter to assist a high school student with severe and profound needs on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This position involves accompanying the student between buildings, all within less than a mile, ensuring seamless access to educational resources.

The daily schedule generally runs from 8:40 AM to 4:15 PM.

Qualifications:

• EIPA score of 4.0 or above, or current RID/NAD certification
• QAST Level III or higher
• Minimum two years of sign language interpreting experience preferred
• Experience with students in grades K-12 valued
• Ability to collaborate in a school setting and adapt to varied learning environments
• Professional, compassionate approach to supporting students with a range of abilities
