TRIO EOC/GRIT Program Support Specialist

The TRIO EOC / GRIT Program Support Specialist will assist the program coordinator with recruiting and assisting 850 GRIT participants in enrolling in post‑secondary education or obtaining a credential.
This appointment is contingent upon availability of grant funding. Once the funds from the grant that provide funding for this appointment are no longer available, this appointment may be terminated without cause upon written notice to the employee.

• Initiate and complete project activities at the College, community agencies, churches, businesses, and community organizations.
• Conduct academic enrichment workshops on campus and off‑campus covering financial literacy, study skills, test‑taking skills, and time management.
• Provide individual and group counseling, career development counseling, and information on post‑secondary education opportunities.
• Assist students in completing post‑secondary education admissions applications, financial aid forms, and coaching for entrance exams.
• Travel within assigned counties (Grady, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Oklahoma, and Pottawatomie) to identify and assist clients.
• Maintain and update a participant recruitment database and perform monthly follow‑up via phone, visit, email, etc.
• Administer career assessment inventories or refer participants to a certified practitioner.
• Follow up with clients to ensure enrollment and progress.
• Assist in developing or selecting program marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, posters, and multimedia presentations.
• Coordinate and participate in on‑ and off‑campus program activities, meetings, conferences, and participant events.
• Perform other duties outlined by the GRIT Program Coordinator and Director of TRIO programs within U.S. Department of Education guidelines.
• Stay current on federal TRIO programs, trends, and new developments.
• Serve on various college committees as assigned.
• Work effectively in a college environment, demonstrating interpersonal skills with diverse groups.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety protocols as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience.
• Strong written, oral, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with diverse adult student populations.
• Ability to collaborate with peers, supervisors, faculty, staff, and students.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Physical ability to perform general duties described (sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, frequent movement, standing, operating computer and mobile devices).

• Bilingual.
• Experience working in community college settings with adults.
• Experience working in post‑secondary education settings.
