The Admission Processing Specialist reads, screens, and processes admission application decisions for new, returning, transfer, and special admission populations in accordance with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and Tulsa Community College policy and procedures. The Admission Processing Specialist is knowledgeable of all application requirements and provides professional,student-centered support throughout the application process. This role complements and collaborates with Admission Counselors, Recruiters, and other student services college-wide to achieve enrollment goals and maintain accurate student records.
Essential Duties
1. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of OSRHE policy and TCC procedures to process and decision admission applications for new, returning, transfer, and special admission populations. Reviews application responses, transcripts, and test scores to determine admission and student type, residency classification, admission checklist requirements and associated holds on the student account.
2. Critically review and flag potentially fraudulent applications utilizing advanced fraud detection software, monitoring additional systems to identify suspicious patterns or anomalies, processing and communicating next steps with the applicant.
3. Support admission operations by monitoring audit reports, processing term changes, special admission petitions, managing duplicate applications and student records to ensure timely and accurate processing.
4. Effectively and appropriately communicate policy, procedure, and available options to applicants and respond to applicant inquires related to their application and admission requirements.
5. Collaborate with Admission Counselors, Recruiters, and other student-serving departments regarding applicants' admission status and contribute to admission and enrollment initiatives and events.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent education in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
1 year of related experience.
Critical thinking skills and the ability to synthesize information across multiple platforms to reach a decision that supports institutional and OSRHE policies.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills to successfully interact with diverse individuals and groups in person, by telephone, and via email.
Experience providing customer service, customized to meet the needs of individual users.
Experience maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
Experience in higher education.
Experience with fraud detection and prevention.
