Position: Behavior Intervention Assistant
Reports to: Site Principal
Supervises: None
Assist in the implementation of behavior skills instruction and interventions designed to meet the specific goals and objectives for children with behavioral intervention needs.
Qualifications- High School diploma: or GED required.
Bachelor or Associate Degree in behavioral health or related field preferred. - Three to five years of experience providing students with behavioral support preferred.
- Satisfy Every Student Succeeds Act requirements by:
- Completed at least 2 years of study (48 hr.) at an institution of higher ed, or
- Hold an associate’s degree or higher, or
- Obtained a National Career Readiness Certificate through successful completion of the ACT, Work Keys Assessment, or passed the Paraprofessional Assessment Test - Passing Score is 455, or
- Passed the Oklahoma General Education (OGET) Test.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Provide behavior support and interventions to students in 1:1 and group settings.
- Use intensive teaching and environmental behavior interventions.
- Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
- Follow and record data for prescribed protocols, as instructed.
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior.
- Model and support intervention strategies in student(s) in classroom.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with teachers and related staff regarding student progress.
- Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when working with students.
- Assist teacher in preparing student materials as instructed.
- Participate in professional learning and other training programs, as required.
- Maintain student confidentiality.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Classified hourly contract, 9 months.

Qualification:
Non-Exempt.
Salary: $17.68 per hour.
Regular Requirements:
Stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch; lift/move up to 50 pounds; handle objects and tools with hands; repetitive use of fingers and hands.
Occasional Requirements:
Reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Visual Requirements:
Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Hearing/Speaking Requirements:
Adequate to exchange information.
