Opportunity at a Glance:
Chamberlain College of Nursing needs qualified Maternal Child Faculty (Part‑Time) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Teaching is onsite in a clinical setting with one of our clinical partners.
Schedule:
most commonly 12‑hour rotations (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) for three to four consecutive days.
This course focuses on family‑centered approaches to maternal/newborn care and incorporates health promotion and wellness issues. It covers the child‑bearing cycle, including normal experience, high‑risk factors, complications, and alterations, and includes additional women’s health issues. A variety of populations and settings are used in the experiential learning component.
Responsibilities- Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
- Plan clinical experiences, provide direct supervision, and evaluate nursing students delivering care.
- Evaluate and document student performance based on course objectives; provide timely feedback.
- Provide remediation for students as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations, with assistance of agency personnel.
- Develop and post written clinical assignments that align with student knowledge, skill competency, and learning needs.
- Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, and clinical paperwork promptly.
- Teach didactic course content under supervision of the course coordinator.
- Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
- Support the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and departmental and campus policies.
- Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating customer service, collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
- Apply relationship skills for group problem solving, consensus building, and negotiation.
- Comply with applicable regulatory rules and standards.
- Collaborate with college administration, staff, and faculty to improve operations and student satisfaction.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
- Unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Oklahoma.
- At least two years’ professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
- Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
- Passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
- Exceptional subject‑matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eager to serve students and colleagues with respect and care.
- Responsible, purposeful, and committed to enriching colleagues, students, and the broader community.
- Illinois RN license will be required to teach all courses (prioritized for faculty currently licensed in Illinois).
The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 and $7,245 per assignment, adjusted based on course type, experience, training, location, licensure, certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibilities.
