Role OverviewThe Sooner Job ChalleNGe Program serves up to sixty 17- to 21-year-old “At‑Risk” youth. The program combines classroom work, technical school training, community service, physical training, and team‑building activities to enhance the life-skills and employability potential of these youth. The Lead Instructor serves as Principal and the resident authority on education, overseeing curriculum development, student enrollment, assessment, and partnership coordination with Epic Charter School and vocational training programs.
Responsibilities- Coordinate curriculum development and student enrollment with EPIC charter schools; attend all IEP meetings.
- Ensure curriculum meets required legislated and program standards.
- Schedule, supervise, and evaluate the educational process for program students, including GED academic classes, high school credit recovery, educational field trips, vocational courses, and other related activities.
- Coordinate and schedule testing, including GED and academic achievement testing with TABE.
- Collect, prepare, and document student academic statistical data upon enrollment and completion.
- Act as primary point of contact for parents regarding education questions.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate the performance of the certified instructional staff, including interviewing and recommending hiring.
- Coordinate with other departments on program improvement and cooperative activities; enforce program rules and policies in accordance with MYPCA and Oklahoma Military Department guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Ability to handle confidential information; exercise judgment in interpreting and applying rules or policy; computer savvy with basic software programs; effective communication, problem solving, and self‑starter; maintain composure under stressful conditions.
Education & ExperienceBA/BS and Oklahoma Teacher Certification required with documented supervisory experience. MA/MS preferred with prior principal duty experience.
Licenses & CertificatesCurrent Oklahoma Teacher’s certificate.

- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess a valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate.
- Tobacco‑ and vape‑free facility.
- FLSA exempt status.
