JOB TITLE

Pastor to Students

CLASSIFICATION
:
Full time - Ministerial Staff

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION
:
To serve and lead students in our community, faithfully and passionately partnering with parents, teens, and other ministry team members to strategically plan, facilitate, teach, counsel, encourage, and develop ministry and mission priorities and activities for students grades 7th-12th.

:
Lead Pastor

RESPONSIBILITIES

Partnering with parents, teens and other ministry team members. This job done well can’t be done alone. Calling, equipping, encouraging, and entrusting others with shared student ministry must be a firm commitment to thrive in this ministry. Among other collaborative efforts, the Pastor to Students’ responsibilities include:

  • Strategically planning for the ministry’s growth. Discerning priorities and tailoring ministry activities accordingly via dedicated listening, watching and asking for wisdom in community and with the Lord.
  • Facilitating student ministry gatherings:
    1) Communicating effectively,
    2) Securing necessary resources;
    3) Commanding the room;
    4) Directing the ministry team;
    5) Managing facilities and resources.
  • Teaching God’s Word. Creatively and resourcefully leading students in discovery of Biblical truth.
  • Counseling adolescents wisely. Humbly helping students in need when appropriate, referring to professional, Christian counselors when necessary.
  • Encouraging spiritual growth in students. Prioritizing intentional, positive relational interactions.
  • Developing ministry and mission priorities. Evaluating needs routinely and adapting accordingly with a balanced commitment to both ministry and mission.
  • PERFORM STAFF DUTIES
  • Participate in all regular staff meetings and retreats.
  • Serve as member of Vision Team to assist with design and execution of long-range plans.
  • Assist with services, weddings and funerals as needed.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by Lead, Executive, or Family Pastor.
  • EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's Degree expected. Additional post-graduate training in a related field preferred.
