Early Childhood Learning Center Teacher Assistant
Monte Cassino School is seeking an Early Childhood Learning Center Teaching Assistant to begin the school year.
Monte Cassino School is a Catholic Benedictine, independent, co-ed school, Grades PK3-8, with an Early Childhood Learning Center (PK3-K), Elementary School (grades 1-4), and Middle School (grades 5-8) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in small group pupil instruction; tutors pupils at teacher's request
- Assists teacher in maintaining discipline and other functions
- Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units
- Handles attendance reports and related clerical functions with the teacher
- Assists in assembling/hanging materials on bulletin boards and keeping displays current
- Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc.
- Escorts children to and from various rooms
- Treats all students with dignity and respect
- Works well with both supervisors and other members of the team
- Maintains consistent and punctual attendance
- Performs other duties assigned by supervisor or administrator
Qualifications:
- Some college preferred but a minimum of a high diploma or GED
- Sustained demonstrated experience working with children
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch and stoop for extended periods of time
- Must be able to circulate among students in a classroom setting
- Must be able to move from classroom to classroom and from building to building as assigned or required by classroom assignment and activity of the day
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally required to work in poor weather conditions such as temperature, precipitation, and wind during recess and carpool duty
