Paralegal Department Head
Community Care College - Tulsa, OK 74145
Teaching Responsibilities- Develop and monitor curriculum, syllabi and lesson plans
- Teach material in accordance with assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction
- Collaborate with other faculty to integrate information throughout teaching and learning process
- Present enthusiastic, well prepared, organized lectures and interactive classroom activities consistent with course syllabus
- Be familiar with college accrediting bodies and compliance as it pertains to the program
- Implement and model the college mission, and CARES philosophy, incorporating professional and ethical standards
- Keep faculty and school administration informed with the progress of the program
- Study, evaluate and recommend the adoption of textbooks, teaching aids, materials and programs to improve instruction.
- Create and maintain an inviting classroom environment
- Assists students in achieving completion of objectives
- Provides regular, accurate and timely feedback to students relative to their performance
- Exercises normal classroom supervision to effect a positive learning environment
- Advises students on matters related to academics, behavior, attendance and grades
- Participates in school retention initiatives by contacting absent students
- Assists in student concern resolution, provide counsel/tutoring as needed
- Motivate students to actively participate in all aspect of the educational process, including but not limited to, class discussions, demonstrations, outside assignments, research, enrichment activities
- Maintains and reports student grades and attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Completes professional development and in-service activities in accordance with college standards and/or as assigned
- Maintains expertise in subject area in order to provide students with current trends and to recommend improvements in curriculum design
- Participates in department curriculum implementation and development meetings. Recommends improvement in curriculum design.
- Participates in core course academic support programs, certification programs, and student professional associations at the school when possible
- Attend management meetings when necessary
- Act as liaison between team and administration.
- Recommend needed changes in policy
- Prepare needed reports for administration
- Make contact with the public when needed
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, faculty and public
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
- Become point of contact for your program during accreditation reviews and other visits
- Completes professional development and in-service activities in accordance with college standards and/or as assigned
- Serve on various committees including attendance, retention, and institutional effectiveness
- Assist with determining needs for your program
- With program growth will supervise additional faculty
- Create environment of Excellence in Customer Service toward students
- Performs other duties as assigned by President, CEO or Campus Director
- Instructors are required to provide their own hardware (PC or Mac Computer), software (including email), and
- Internet service.
- Maintain 90% or higher on course evaluations.
- Maintain 88% or higher on quarterly student satisfaction surveys.
- Maintain an 85% retention rate
- Attend at least two meetings monthly to stay connected (Fireside Chat, Team/Department Meetings, Initiatives).
- Attend other meetings as required (but no more than five per month will be mandatory).
- Maintain exclusivity to Community Care College.
- Commit to continuous improvement as an online educator by attending trainings and professional development opportunities as desired or as assigned.
- Maintains a high performance environment characterized by a strong team
- Defines goals and/or required results at the beginning of the performance period
- Communicates regularly with other staff toward defined goals and or required results. Self motivated to improve quantity and quality of work performed and participates in training and development opportunities as appropriate.
