Summary

Under the supervision of the Title I supervisor and in cooperation with the teachers, the Title I Tutors assist students to improve their basic reading skills, math skills, and self-esteem. Incumbents must display patience and understanding in order to achieve desired results.

Classified position is announced to all applicants. Applications must be submitted no later than Tuesday, July 28, 2026. 3.4 hours per day/ 174 days per year/Grade 3 $ 17.24 per hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table) (Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase)

NOTE:

HOURS FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE WORKED MONDAY-THURSDAY FROM 11:30-3:15 DAILY.

GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Title I supervisor and in cooperation with the teachers, the Title I Tutors assist students to improve their basic reading skills, math skills, and self-esteem. Incumbents must display patience and understanding in order to achieve desired results.

• Educational Requirements:
  
  1. High school graduation. 2.
  
  Minimum Qualifications:
  
  The equivalent of two years, (48 semester hours), full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional math and reading test.
• Knowledge & Ability:
  1. Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
  2. Ability to work well with children, display patience and understanding.
