The Family Learning Center Associate supports the Family Learning Center classrooms by assisting teachers, therapists, parents, and students with classroom preparation, instructional activities, and daily classroom maintenance. This role partners with lead teachers to provide engaging learning experiences for children with special needs from birth through six years of age.

The Associate helps foster healthy caregiver-child interactions by balancing instructional support, active listening, and meeting caregivers where they are in their parenting journey. When a child is unable to tolerate the classroom environment, the Associate Teacher collaborates with teachers, therapists, and caregivers to provide a safe space while working toward the child's successful return to classroom activities.

This position assists with obtaining classroom and therapy supplies, participates in weekly classroom cleaning and organization, and serves as a substitute teacher or therapy group leader when needed. The Associate Teacher functions as an active member of Little Light House's transdisciplinary team, working collaboratively to support each child's development.

The Family Learning Center Associate clearly understands and embraces that they are a part of Little Light House, a Christian Development Center with Biblical core values whose mission is to glorify God by improving the quality of life for children with special needs, their families, and communities.
