Epic Principal Trainer
The Epic Principal Trainer (PT) leads the creation of role-based training curricula, manages the dedicated training environment, and ensures user competency across the organization. The PT collaborates closely with application analysts and operational leadership to translate complex software workflows into digestible, actionable learning materials.
Minimum QualificationsEducation - associate's degree in healthcare administration, Information Technology, Education, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Experience - Minimum of 2–3 years of experience building, implementing, or training in Epic EHR software.
Knowledge & Skills –
- Ability to work with Epic end users and troubleshoot Epic application issues
- Knowledge of advanced computer and administrative support skills.
- Demonstrated customer-oriented service excellence principles.
- Ability to present and conduct training.
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment, establishing work priorities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to assist with meeting assignment deadlines and interpret established policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with all staff as well as the public, both orally and in writing.
- A quick learner of software and information technology and motivated to learn new applications
- Knowledgeable in adult learning techniques
- Ability to maintain a confident, professional demeanor.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Skill and ability to file, organize and retrieve data and information. Must possess strong organizational skills.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment equipped with business machines, computers, etc.
Physical DemandsWork requires extended periods of sitting, standing and bending, operation of business machines, and some driving. Valid Oklahoma Driver's License is required. Confidence, maturity, and the ability to cope with occasional emotional situations (such as handling complaints) are required.
Essential FunctionsSatisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:
Author comprehensive lesson plans, user manuals, exercise booklets, and quick-reference job aids.
Tailor training pathways to match specific operational roles (e.g., inpatient nurses, billing specialists, front-desk staff).
Build digital, interactive training modules for ongoing education and new hire onboarding.
Construct, configure, and maintain the Master Training (MST) environment to support hands-on practice.
Run utilities to rebuild, refresh, and maintain patient data scenarios within the training environments.
Audit and test the training environment prior to classes to ensure software stability and correct workflow behaviors.
