Non-Exempt Salary: $17.00/hour, part time

Job Summary:

The Family Literacy Instructor will assist in providing age-appropriate instruction to children enrolled within the program while supporting families in practicing new skills edule for this position is Monday through Thursday 8:45am to 11:30am. Currently only hiring for Fall 2026 semester but could extend into Spring 2027.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in regular planning and collaboration sessions with other instructors to create engaging and educational activities according to curriculum. This can also include planning and parent enrichment and learning activities with families.
  • Initiate positive relationships with parents through personal communication, feedback, and follow up.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment by keeping classroom clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Encourage good habits and positive behaviors among the children. Foster encouraging and supportive learning environment for students by responding to emotional needs and concerns.
Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills in working with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and potentially stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Reliable transportation/Driver's License

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one-year experience in a children's educational setting.
  • CDA preferred.
  • Experienced in using Digital Resources for lesson planning and instruction.
