• Minimum of three (3) years of recent industry experience in heavy equipment operation, construction, earthmoving, or a related field.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and equipment maintenance practices required.
• Teaching, training, mentoring, or workforce development experience preferred.

Flexibility to work two evenings per week as scheduled throughout the spring and fall semesters required.

• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.
• Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
• Effectively manage the classroom and HEO simulator scenarios to create an optimal learning environment.
• Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.
• Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.
• Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. – prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.)
• Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech's ACD program.
• Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

High School Diploma or equivalent; NCCER Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Certified Instructor.

Evenings

Standard rate schedule for non-regular (temporary, adjunct, substitute) and regular part-time employees.

$35 per hour

Regular Requirements:
Stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch; lift/move up to 20 pounds; handle objects and tools with hands; repetitive use of fingers and hands.

Occasional Requirements:
Reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds. Must be able to travel or work extended hours, as needed.

Visual Requirements:
Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

Hearing/Speaking Requirements:
Adequate to exchange information.
