Career path to Engineering Technician & Special Inspector ($35/hr)

Expected

Hours:

40 – 50 per week

• Perform field testing and inspections of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, mortar, asphalt, and reinforcing steel on active job sites
• Learn how to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Travel daily in a company-provided truck (once promoted to Engineering Technician
  1) to various project sites
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, performing physical tasks (lifting 50–100 lbs, standing, squatting, bending, and kneeling for extended periods)
• Accurately document test results and communicate findings to project managers and site personnel
• Engage as part of a team, solving challenges and supporting construction projects

• Entry-Level - Construction Materials Testing Trainee ($20.00 - $22.00 per hour) – No experience required; full training provided
• Engineering Technician 1 ($22.00 - $25.00 per hour) –
  Promotion includes a company truck
• Engineering Technician 2 ($25.00 - $27.00 per hour)
• Engineering Technician 3 ($27.00 - $29.00 per hour)
• Special Inspector ($28.00 - $35.00 per hour)

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Physically able to stand, squat, and lift 50–100 lbs over a long workday.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Flexible schedule
  —must be available for overtime, weekends, and occasional out-of-town assignments
