Haskell's Design & Consulting Team unites architecture, engineering, and consulting professionals from across industries and geographies. Our diverse and innovative team allows Haskell to serve our clients with multiple project delivery methods including design-build, engineer-procure-construct, fee-for-service, or consulting services. The Design & Consulting Team serves a diverse set of markets including food and beverage, consumer products, aviation and aerospace, civil infrastructure, healthcare, and Federal Government projects. As a team member at Haskell, you'll have the opportunity to work on impactful projects that will challenge your creativity, innovation, and expand your skill set.
In this role, you will have entry-level responsibility as a design professional, for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost-effective designs, drawings, and specifications in their discipline for assigned projects. You will emerge as an independent resource and begin to coordinate work with other disciplines. You will work to fulfill experience requirements for eligibility to take a professional license exam.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in project strategy meetings within discipline, develops design concepts, produces pricing and proposal presentation documents.
- Design
- Analysis
- Performs analyses or calculations as assigned.
- Assist in the development of reports under the direction of a Licensed Professional.
- Coordinates and checks work carefully to minimize all deficiencies, errors and omissions.
- Ability to read and understand local/state/federal highway design manuals, special provisions, specifications, and standards.
- Maintains orderly work files and prepares clear, well-written memos/ correspondence. When assigned, prepares presentation materials.

- Construction Documents
- Produces well-organized, finished design documents of good appearance, accuracy, clarity and correctness from layouts, sketches or written instructions. Applies discipline design and detailing fundamentals in developing designs and specifications under the supervision of and subject to final approval by the Licensed Professional.
- Assist in the development of construction plans, right-of-way plans, cost estimates, bid documents and quantity takeoffs under the direction of a Licensed Professional.
- Assists Licensed Professional with the production/assembly/plotting of drawing packages and writing specifications.
- Subject to final approval of Licensed Professional, checks final drawings and submittal data for conformance with contract documents.
- Construction Support
- Assist on project site visits by taking notes, photographs and sketches.
- Subject to final approval of Licensed Professional, checks shop drawings and submittal data for conformance with contract documents.
- Assist License Professional in construction observation to monitor compliance with design intent, construction drawings and observations. Prepares field reports.
- Project Management
- Partners with technical efforts of discipline Interns, designers, and technicians assigned to the project.
- Profitability, Planning, and Scheduling
- Creates work plan for assigned tasks. Plan, execute, and monitor assignments, communicating status with supervisor to establish priorities.
- Meet project schedules to align with target dates for deliverables.
- Professional Development
- Desires to become registered as a PE.
- Actively participates in local professional organizations.
- Increase proficiency in using design software.
- Identify continuing education opportunities to expand professional growth and advance the collective ability of the discipline.
- Attends training provided by senior staff to improve base knowledge.

Application of Knowledge of Civil Engineering Applications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited university in civil engineering preferred or other degree related to the civil engineering profession.
- 0 - 3 years of experience and the ability to sit for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EI) within 6 months of hire required; exam certification preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:
