The Assistant Engineer will work closely with senior engineers and technical teams to support the execution of maritime engineering projects. This includes assisting with vessel system inspections, maintenance coordination, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to project planning and documentation. The role requires a proactive mindset, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:- Support the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of vessel machinery and systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Assist in technical inspections and diagnostics to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for timely delivery of equipment and services related to maritime operations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs to enhance vessel reliability and performance.
- Ensure adherence to maritime regulations, safety protocols, and company policies throughout engineering activities.
- Participate in continuous learning initiatives and stay updated on the latest maritime engineering technologies and industry best practices.
- Diplomain Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of maritime vessel systems, propulsion, and onboard machinery
- Able to use hand tools to carry out repair tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and use of relevant engineering software is an advantage.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic marine workshop setting and adapt to changing project requirements.
