Lead CAD Technician

As a Lead CAD Technician, you will apply your CAD expertise to produce detailed drawings with limited guidance from others. You will work closely with engineers and project teams, contributing to technically complex civil infrastructure projects.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical capability in AutoCAD Civil 3D. You will support the preparation of comprehensive drawing packages, help maintain drafting standards, and contribute to efficient CAD workflows. Over time, you may also provide guidance or informal mentoring to less experienced team members through your technical expertise.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in drafting or a related field or equivalent hands‑on experience
• 8+ years of CAD design/drafting experience (flexible for strong technical profiles)
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Solid understanding of civil design principles, including alignments, profiles, and plan production
• Working knowledge of GIS elements, coordinate systems, spatial data, and projections
• Basic understanding of VBA or simple scripting for workflow efficiency
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

This role requires strong, proven Civil 3D capability and the ability to demonstrate technical skills as part of the interview process.
