Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems encountered. Develop and sustain electrical products offered by the company.

Job Functions/Duties
  • Work as a key resource in the Engineering R&D department generating innovative ideas and engineering solutions to support our downhole electrical/electronic products aimed for oil and gas production wells
  • Be the primary Engineering support of our Electronic and Motor Lead Extension manufacturing to resolve issues with manufacturing, testing or operation of electrical products
  • Develop assembly and testing procedures for motor leads, electronic assemblies and their sub-components/systems
  • Propose, create and implement solutions to support manufacturing operations
  • Develop assembly fixtures or tooling to allow expedient and safe processing of orders through manufacturing
  • Work with suppliers to specify appropriate components and suitable substitutes for electronic products
  • Manage multiple projects or issues, taking responsibility for on time and on budget delivery of proven design solutions
  • Perform analysis to verify effectiveness and suitability of proposed design solutions
  • Exercise of judgment is required on details of work, in making selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives and in making decisions about project management and scheduling
  • Generate test plans and contribute in test equipment design verification
  • Carry out any necessary test programs to ensure reliability and sustainability of the product
  • Compile engineering reports and present data, where necessary, to the management team
  • Work within defined parameters to make decisions and apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity
  • Resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning
  • Identify customer’s requirement (technical/products problems, execution issues) and attend customer meetings (kick off, coordination review, close out etc.)
  • Generate Bill of Material for the assigned project and prepare Quality Control Plan
  • Support fabrication of equipment including troubleshooting, product improvement, and product inspection
  • Personally observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material. Actively promote safety processes and report any safety issues to proper channels for action.
Qualifications / Education Requirements
  • Willingness or interest in international relocation is preferred, but not required
  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of MS Office and/or company specific databases
  • Proficient in programming of electronics and electrical devices
  • Good oral and written communication and analytical skills
  • Must have experience handling multiple projects simultaneously with stringent deadlines, and working in an environment, which requires flexibility, innovation, superb customer service skills, and organization
  • Requires an understanding of both theories and principles
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology required with a focus on circuits and instrumentation
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering role in design or manufacturing required
  • Experience in electronic manufacturing is preferred, but not required
Working Conditions &

Physical Requirements

Normal office environment and occasional exposure to Test Well environment during the course of normal job duties

Occasionally required to move about the facility

Occasional travel and on-call required

Working in test well with high voltage and pressure equipment

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection, hard hat and safety shoes while in shop environment or on job site
