Overview
Responsible to provide engineering knowledge, discipline, technical direction and project/process management leadership to assigned engineering function. Leads all or portions of the organizational aspects of technology development from strategy and early design through field validation, improvements, and engineering to order. A strong background in sustaining engineering, product improvement and new product development are essential to success in this role.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Plans, executes and manages engineering plans/tasks within assigned function. Provides necessary information to business line leadership to inform short-and long-term planning, including budgetary needs and design and redesign opportunities.
- Develops technical and leadership expertise within the team to create a center of engineering excellence, including standardized design disciplines, problem-solving product application, effective communication and technical engineering core competencies. Reviews and approves technical drawings, analyses, processes and engineering changes as needed.
- Frequently assists/interacts with other engineering disciplines, departments, project and product managers as needed to further product and process development. Provides technical assistance to other departments as needed.
- Selects, leads, manages, evaluates, motivates and develops employees. Conducts performance and talent reviews, providing fair and accurate assessments of employee performance, training needs, areas for improvement and possibility of future growth within the organization.
- Identifies and leads process improvements. Creates, executes and audits written processes and improves department processes through on the job application and leverage of best practices from the industry. May involve participation in professional and industry trade organizations, reviewing product development papers/literature and attending appropriate conferences, seminars and workshops.
- Actively supports corporate HSE initiatives. Develops safe work environment/practices and promotes the use of personal protective equipment and safe work habits for employees.

- Demonstrated technical and strategic leadership
- Strong industry knowledge, can include pipeline integrity, intervention & isolation and/or flow assurance products and services
- Strong problem solving, influencing and creative leadership skills
- Knowledge of industry applicable codes
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
