** Thie role is responsible to the assigned manager for performing entry level to complex engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.

*** Exhibits journey to advanced level proficiency plus unique knowledge that allows effective participation in recommended courses of action, and the achievement of satisfactory solutions to advanced technical problems.
** Leadership & Guidance:
*** Leads project activity related to specific, unique, and/or highly specialized areas of engineering technology application.
* Leads, facilitates, and coordinates work activities of others within work group, team, department or other corporate entity as necessary, and assumes the role of project manager for assigned tasks. Coordinates and conducts training.
** Planning & Organization Ability:
*** Reviews planned work of others when assigned.
* Organizes and leads special projects and task forces as assigned.
** Problem Solving & Initiative:
*** Demonstrates superior problem-solving skills in area of specialization which earns expert recognition within the company.
** Communication & Interpersonal
Skills:
*** Projects credibility and competence on technical issues and has highly developed presentation skills. Networks throughout AEP, other companies, professional organizations, and regulatory agencies.
** Decision Making & Business Awareness:
*** Possesses the knowledge to make technical decisions based on calculated risks with little or no management review.
* Understands how technical strategies and decisions impact the relationship with customers.
* Demonstrates the ability to make decisions affecting long-range plans and goals based on analysis of uncertain input and outcomes.

* * This vacancy is posted in a range and offers opportunities for advancement. The final grade and compensation offered will be determined based on the successful candidate's education, experience, and relevant skills. The minimum qualifications below are for Engineer Associate.

* What We're Looking For:
** This is an entry level position for new graduates with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET
* A degree in electrical engineering is the preferred degree
*** ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
** Acceptable alternative is:(1) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
** VP or above may waive the requirement for a degree from a university with an Non-ABET accredited program
**** What You'll Get:
** Engineer Associate: $78,500 - $90,000
Engineer: $85,000 - $105,000
Engineer Sr: $100,000 - $125,000
