This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical or Civil Engineer to join a fast-growing company. We are seeking an inspired individual looking to make a significant impact in a challenging and rewarding field. Apart from mechanical and structural design work, the ideal team member is interested in process, product and personnel development.
The Mechanical Design group is looking for someone that will expand their engineering and design capabilities. The immediate need is for someone experienced with mechanical and structural calculations of steel structures and equipment. Familiarity with fabrication and general arrangement drawings as well as AISC and ASCE7 standards is necessary to perform the required design work. Structural calculations are primarily performed with design tools and RISA-3D.
Training will begin immediately. This position offers a lot of potential for growth.
With utilization of modern tools, such as FEA and CFD analysis, and our combined experience in combustion and heater engineering, we offer solutions to the industries toughest challenges.
Minimum Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering3 years of design experience in a relevant field post-degreeHeavy steel structure design familiarity with wind & seismic loadingsFamiliarity with design and construction standards such as ASME, AWS, ASTM, ASCE, and AISCExperience with performing and reporting mechanical/structural calculationsFamiliarity with general arrangement drawings, detailed fabrication drawings, demolition drawings, erection drawings, and other drawings typical to the oil and gas industryKnowledge of industry standard checking procedures and ability to oversee and check design workFamiliarity with industry construction materials, tolerances, codes, specifications and design guidelinesExperience with 3D CAD design software and GA/detailed drawing production from 3DExperience working independently and in small teamsDesire to learn and problem solveDesired Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil EngineeringLicensed Professional EngineerExperience in the oil and gas industryWind and seismic design of open and closed frame structures per AISC and ASCE 7Connection designProficiency in RISA-3D and RISAConnectionProgramming skills in Excel/VBAConstruction management experienceProficiency in AutoCAD (2D), Solid Works, and/or Tekla StructuresExperience with Finite Element Analysis.Job Functions
Participate as a member of the Mechanical Design group, focused on expanding the group’s structural capabilities and helping take the company into the future with tools and methodologies that sets it apart from othersDesign complex oil and gas equipment, including heavy steel structures such as fired heaters, boilers, auxiliary equipment, and support structuresPerform and check others’ mechanical and/or structural calculations with major focus on heavy steel design per AISC and ASCE 7Develop design standards and tools to effectively meet project requirements, resolve problems, and continually improve internal design processesSolve challenging problems that involve investigative problem solving, require clever ingenuity, and demand simultaneous big-picture thinking and small detail precisionCollaborate with sales, execution, process engineering, external manufacturing companies, and customers to understand market needs and constraints while balancing company objectivesPerform field surveys and design work, including: ascertain current equipment conditions, measurement of existing equipment, design superior solutions to complex retrofit challenges, design modifications to existing equipment, communicate with client personnel and direct construction/installation workValue engineeringAssist customers with product-related questions and participate in field trialsOffers
