The Manufacturing Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for translating electrical documentation into efficient manufacturing processes for a leading packaging solutions company. This role provides hands-on technical support to the production line, ensuring minimal downtime through expert troubleshooting of PLC, HMI, and motion control systems.
Core Responsibilities- 70% Systems Integration: Implement, test, and troubleshoot HMI/PLC software and electrical layouts.
- 20% Continuous Improvement: Lead cost-reduction projects, resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and optimize manufacturing routings.
- 10% Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations and technical manuals.
- PLC/HMI Proficiency: Extensive experience with Allen Bradley (500/5000) and Beckhoff/Codesys.
- Diagnostics: Mastery of electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes) and electrical assembly rework.
- Design: Strong understanding of Electrical CAD (AutoCAD) and DFMA principles.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on field experience).
- Travel: Ability to travel 0-20% (higher during initial onboarding). Valid driver’s license required.
